It’s barely the end of January, and it seems we already have the winter blues.  Here are some “Winter Fun Ideas” – Get up off the couch and enjoy!!

Snowshoeing at Kohler Andrae State Park
This 1-mile snowshoe trail begins at the amphitheater and winds through the wooded campground area.  Additional snowshoeing is available at the 2.5-mile Black River Trail and throughout the park. Snowshoeing is not allowed on the groomed ski trail.

Sheboygan Lakers Ice Center
Take a day with your friends and go ice skating! Blue Line Ice Center offers ice skate rentals for $3 and the admissions fee is $5. Find the public skating schedule at  https://www.sheboyganlakershockey.com/page/show/141498-public-skating

Sledding
Vollrath Bowl is a unique and popular place to sled. This amphitheater has tiered sides so you get an exciting change in velocity as you slide down. Vollrath is great for little kids and adults alike. For a slightly smaller hill, head a little west and check out  Kiwanis Park.

Experience Surfing
During the winter months, the surfing action picks up in Sheboygan. We’re not the for nothing. Because of its location and geography, Sheboygan has some of the best waves on the Great Lakes and is known as the “Fresh Water Surf Capital of the World." While there are opportunities to surf or watch the surfers in the summer, if you are looking for the biggest waves, winter is the time to do it.
